10 Ways to Conserve Water:

Illustrated by Julianne Park.

Inside the house:

  • Take shorter showers
  • Install water-saving appliances to help reduce water waste.
  • Turn off the faucet when brushing your teeth or shaving
  • Use fewer towels!
  • Don’t use your toilet as a trash can.
  • Use a laundry machine on full loads only.
  • Switch your top-loading washing machine to side loading.
  • Use toilet leak tablets.
  • Constantly check for leaks in your sinks and toilets and fix them.
  • While they may be fun, try not to play with toys such as water balloons and water guns as they do require lots of water.

In the garden:

  • If you have leftover water, use it to water your plants or wash a mess. Don’t waste it!
  • Plant native, drought-resistant, or succulents. Not high water demanding plants.
  • Use a rain catcher.
  • Use high-efficiency low-flow sprinklers or drip irrigation.
